My 1985 Hunter 34 has 5" low profile PVC cowl vents. I want to replace them but I have been unable to find 5" vents. Anyone know of a source for this size vent?

Or You Can Use Clorox
Get a bucket large enough to completely engulf the vent. Fill it with clorox. Immerse the vents in the clorox and leave them for an hour. Pull them out, scub a little, and they will be clean. Cost = $5 for the two bottles of clorox. I do this every spring and my vents are clean with no stains. Joe Mullee

that there are as many solutions as there are people you ask: I have had good success in cleaning (and waxing)minw with Collinite Fleet wax. However I like Jerry's solution as the most permanent one

Bright pad works for me
I pull mine off clean with a green bright pad and put a coat of wax on them.. works for me..

Joe, thanks for that solution (literally!). I didn't throw my vents away but didn't want to try to paint the like others have done. Now I have an alternative. Thanks, Fred! The positive effect of using the Nicro's to pull air though the boat has kept it smelling good, even in the winter when closed up. After three years I had to replace the rechargeable batteries as one had quit and the other was barely turning the fan. Otherwise they get a periodic cleaning and just keep working.
