Cowl Vents

I want to replace the low profile 5" cowl vents on my Hunter 34. The original manufacturer of these vents has been bought out and the 5" vents are no longer being manufactured. Any help would be much appreciated.

H34 now in Big boats,search archives for vents

Hi.We have the biggest vents in the fleet.. Hooray.. but when it comes to finding one.. not a chance. I am about to re-paint mine. I have seen articles on this recently.. search both the Big Boat and Mid-sized forum archives.. look for keyword Vent. Also... since June, we are now Big boats... so it must be lonely for you in the mid-sized forum. Jim H 34 Chock Full O Nuts

Vent problem

I am waiting to get my deck better looking before investing in new vents, but assumed the ones at West Marine are the same. They LOOK like mine, but better check further. I have tried to clean and paint mine, but not much long-lasting luck with that. I did not realize H34's were in the big boat section until reading the reply to your question. I thought it was lonely here. I never thought anyone would ever classify a boat of mine as big -- next thing you know she'll be a yacht! Nicro Fico

Nicro Fico was bought out by Marinco and is now Nicro Ventilation. The cowl vents are 5" low profile snap in that are no longer made by them. Nicro has a 5" low profile cowl vent that is the same but with a threaded deck plate. I priced them out at the boat show at $300 each ($600 for two plates and vents). That $15 Nicro-Cote looks great to me.

I lost one of mine overboard when I was preparing for winter!Have been looking for a replacement for ten years! I would kill for a new Cowl......Can ya'll tell me who to kill? (Just kidding...guess we areout of luck!)
