I believe there is a thru hull fitting that will enable me to screw on my VHF coax cable so that when I need to drop the mast it is simply a matter of unscrewing the coax fitting. Can't seem to find anyone in Australia who has this product. Any help really appreciated.

VHF fitting

Getting the PL-259 thru deck connector was no problem, but the cap was tougher. Mine was made by Ancor. Found both cap and connector at the Fisheries Supply Website. http://www.fisheriessupply.com/online/default.asp These are made by Sea Dog Line. When you get to their webside search for SDL#329970-1 (Cap) and SDL#329951-1 (connector) Less than $20.00 USD. The Cap made by Ancor is Ancor#200252. Ordered it on Line from West Marine but don't know if they still carry it. Be careful you don't get the stubby connector, the thru-deck one is much longer and has a nut on each end. Cable lead through deck

hi mark, Using PVC pipe, about 1" dia, I made a through the deck passage way for the entire cable and end connector to pass through and connect directly to the back of the radio. This reduces the amount of loss from connectors. My radio is about where your CD player is, so the run was short from the base of the mast. Won't work to well otherwise. I've go pictures in the Photo Forum from some time ago. See link. Fair winds, Tom
