Help! Looking for some advice regarding tie down of a boat cover.

I had a Fairclough Cover for my 33 and have purchased a Ship Shape cover for the 41. Both covers are boom tent type covers and require a tiedown system off the side of the boat to the trailer. I rigged up a bungy system for the 33 with a floaty holding the tiedown almost off the hull then tied to the trailer frame. It never made me comfortable because the lines touched the side of the hull. The 41 has an awlgrip surface so I am even more concerned about it. I am trying to figure out the best way to tie the cover down with minimal or no contact to the hull. The seller says to "keep the lines tight" but I know that over the winter and the working of the wind on the cover will tend to move the lines. Has any one out there come up with a good system they could share with me?
