Hunter 19 Port Huron
I have a 93 Hunter 19'. Love the boat but need information on adding a couple things. I want to add a furler for the jib. Which one do you recommend etc? Next I want to add a VHF radio (have a handheld but range is not adequit) Is there conduit to run the antena cable etc? Is there any conduit in this boat? Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Post here or email me at rdavis85@comcast.net. Thanks/

The CDI furler is inexpensive and does well for a boat that is trailered a lot.

Radio range is a bit tricky unless you add an antenna to the top of the mast and run coax from the interior, thru a deck coupling to a coax section run up (inside) the mast. You might can experiement with a decent antenna bolted to a stern pulpit rail. Sorry, seems like I recall 19's that don't have a rear pulpit.

Furler - my Hunter 31 had a Harken. My Hunter 386 has a Furlex. Both work fine.

VHF radio - Suggest a Horizon HX851 for ~$200 for a handheld, floatable, vhf radio with gps. It allows you to activate a distress signal to the US Coast Guard with a distinguishable MMSI number that identifies your boat in an emergency.
