Couple of Spring projects... Updated!

Sorry for the blast of posts but we have a long list of stuff we are working on and have not worked on previously. Usually this treasure trove of users has some great intelligence.

Project #1 - Any advice on how to repair these? I believe these are called Ball Studs. We have two missing from the deck right now. In one of these pictures you can see there are some small cracks streaming out from the hole. Whats the best way to plug/fix the holes to reset a new ball stud?



Project 2 - Replacing the Hardware for port side locker to lock it shut. We are just missing the plunger. Beneteau Spare Parts has them for $17 - anywhere else to get these?

I looked and they are pretty expensive - ~$85 a piece. Doesn't that seem steep?

Wondering if there is some aftermarket option that would fit fine but may not be the actual beneteau model.

The top picture is a standard lift the dot fastner. I have replaced so many of those over the years, mostly on english sports cars. You pull the stud out when you don't lift the dot. Sailrite should have them. If I remember correctly the attaching stud come in several diffrent mounting options. You may need to epoxy one in or get one with a thread stud.

Looks like they have a stud which will accept a machine screw, if you can get to the back screw it down with a little epoxy.
