Yaaaaaaaaaaaa the countdown has begun until April and now only 54 days left. I think I will be able to borrow one of the company trucks to tow the boat over to our new found home on the water and moor her there this year. Now if only the weather will co-operate unlike it did last year with constant rain. I am getting excited :D.

Now down to earth  February has made it known that in Nova Scotia at least winter is alive and well. Hopefully this will be the old mans last kick at us until Madame Butterfly gracefully nudes him out of the way for another year.

You guys are lucky . . . we're getting new docks so launch won't be until mid-May. Since our season runs from April to September 30th, we'll lose almost 25% of the season. But, it will be nice not to have wobbly fingers on the dock!

Here in Toronto... winter gave us a miss, though we may still get a good dump or two before spring. But the above-normal temperatures and ice-free harbours make us sometimes think we're missing out on a bonus round.

However, the days are getting longer, the spring clothes are starting to show up in the malls... not long at all til launch :)

I just got my boat in late Nov. 2011. The weather has been teasing me here in London. Warm then cold, 6" snow one day then the next I'm thinking I should cut the lawn.
I'm itching to get out on the water. Even if its in the local puddle.

LOL does it never end:eek:. I am over a year and a half now on my restoration. I do think that I will actually be able to splash her towards the end of April or early May this year though.

Reinstall toe rails.
Install vented loop and waste line from the macerator to the ball valve.
Install water tank, deck fill fitting + line, tank vent + line and line to the galley sink.
Install VHF cable and anchor light cable in mast.
Install VHF ant.
Install USB ant. for GPS plotting.
Some minor epoxy and bottom paint to the bottom side.
Completely paint the interior of the cabin.
Paint the cockpit
Some minor work to the mast step
Get two new major shrouds made up and installed.
Install new bolts for the rudder pintels.
Paint the trailer.

Some time this year make and install cockpit railing and install solar panel and controller and wiring for same.

Brinna,

I'm not falling for the "boats not ready, maybe next year" crap like I read LAST year! I want some real sailing out of you this year! Do I make my self clear. (wagging finger implied).

Prioritize

Toe rails
Mud bucket w/ toilet seat & kitty litter.
Handheld radio
Handheld GPS
Shrouds
Bolts in the rudder

Hit the water.

You can always sail ugly but at least you're sailing.

LMAO :D

She'll be spashed this spring 'come hell or high water' as my dad was always fond of saying about things of importance :D. I'm just making a list of items to order. The biggie is the weather in April as I do have a 12'' wide strip of the bottom to sand and epoxy then bottom coat from gunwhale to gunwhale. The can said 70 F but last year I cheated with the epoxy and put it on at 60 F and all seemed fine with it. The other glass work is in the cabin and I can put an electric heater in there if need be. Oh yeah and I do have to install a new mount and winch for the keel lol.
