Just got back

Joan and I went sailing. We were gone for five days. Visted Tangier Island, Onancock,va and the Coan River. Did 140nm. Weather was better than perfect. Warm days cool nights and both of us forgot to bring cameras. Great sailing, on Saturday we made one tack from Cobb Island to Tangier. Wish I was still out there.... Jim

PYC?

Chuck, were you one of the folks from Portland Yacht Club that we met on Hell's a few years ago? PYC had a big gathering, and took pity on us poor kayak campers and fed us well! Took our sailing club to Quahog Bay a month ago for the lobsterbake-most hadn't been there before. Now I'm told next years trip is mandatory!

no, but the lobsta location's right!

Sorry Kayak Dan, I'm with the Maine Hunter Sailing Association, not PYC. But we're going to little Snow Island, around the corner from Quahog-one of the most beautiful anchorages around. Falling asleep to the sound of the loons, and waking up in a pearly morning mist is fantastic-and not too many lobster pots there either. Chuck

That's the place!

Actually,We took our group to Little Snow also. It is a great anchorage, and a nice island for just such an event. Might keep the crowd on the south end as the osprey is in residence. I'm planning to do a last of the season to Little Snow in early Oct,weather permitting. Last year it was excellent. As for lobster pots...I got my quota in Penobscot over the last 5 days!

Sailin a Mac

Chuck,we sail a Macgregor 26M(blue)"Spice". We trailer it all over the place, but my favorite sailing ground is Casco Bay. We're just back from 5 days, with stops at Pulpit,Russ Is(Stonington-we anchored next to the Isaac Evans),Burnt Coat and back to McGlathery for the last nite. Excellent trip and graet weather. We'll be back in Casco a couple more times this year-out of Potts Harbor-what's your Hunter?
