Im looking at a used Mac 26C. It has no cushions, AT ALL. any idea of what it would cost to replace ALL the cushions? The only number Ive been able to get so far is a piece of "high quality" 4" foam the size of a queen sized bed for $137. thats with NO upholstry fabric or labor to cover it. As a WILD A$$ GUESS, id say it would take about three times that much foam to do the whole boat. OR about $450 JUST for the foam to make the cushions. The labor and the covers would be extra. I cant see getting the whole thing for less than $1000. earl

Probably right

I got all new cushions except for the rear berth. Cost about $600. Try to get the fabric at a remnant furniture place. Standard foam is only 2 inches, but it woudl really be worth it to get 4 inch foam. You could get new cushions for evry area except the rear berth and go with a futon mattress of something else in the back.

Nice Cushions... but what flooring is that?

I really like it. Been thinking about doing something like that in my boat. Been adding more and more wood to the cabin.

Our cushion experience

If you spend a lot of time on your boat, especially overnight, money spent on decent cushions is money well spent. You need mattress grade latex foam, preferably 4 inch thick, medium firmness - if you want the best sleep possible. This stuff IS expensive, but worth every penny. For covering, we used Olifin (stuff used on a sofa) with the bottom half naugahyde. This was for our previous boat - and now we plan to do the same on our Mac S. We expect to pay between $600 and $800 for everything but the aft berth. For that, we are thinking of using waterproof carpeting and then purchasing one of those "memory foam" pads to sleep on. We only sleep on a portion of the aft berth and the rest has coolers and storage bins on it. Sort of a waste to pay big bucks for the portion that is not being slept on. I tried an air mattress. VERY comfortable, but it took up too much vertical space. Could get in but not out!

Tru-lock flooring

Where did you get that flooring? I'm trying to find info on it online and haven't run into anything yet. The non-skid aspect of it really interests me.

Looks Great!

Greg Posey, I love the interior of your boat. The cushions and the floor really do wonders. Can you tell me about that storage door forward in the v-berth. The one that looks just like the one in the galley? I've seen that in other posted pics. Did you add that? Or was it an option from the factory? I ask because it looks like there is a ridge around the opening like the one in the galley. I wish my 26S had that. I want to add more convenient storage, so I may install a door like that too. What does the inside of that compartment look like? How is it setup?
