Catalina Capri 22 Cedar Creek
I'm relatively new to sailing and purchased my first sailboat last year. This boat came with an asymmetrical spinnaker and I flew it for the first time yesterday. The sail seemed small for my tall rig Capri 22. When I raise the halyard all the way, the tack which I've connected to a ring on the furled jib is about 4 feet from the deck. I've only sailed one other boat using a symmetrical spinnaker which seemed a lot larger. Does this sail seem to be the correct size for my boat? Thanks for the help. Dave

It's small. The tack should come to about the pulpit rail. Luff length of 90-95% of your forestay length is typical..

The luff measures 26', the leech measures 23.5', and the foot measures 13.5'. That seems consistent with the specs Catalina lists for their Capri 22, but I don't know if the tall rig would typically use a larger one.
Thanks for the help!

Sounds like it would fit my standard rig CP-22 better! :) Ask the same question over on the capri22.net site (it's back). There are a number of tall rig owners there who can help you out.
