The Admiral and I have been hanging out downtown and the marina area trying to get a feel for the area and find some good places to eat. Our boats in the yard but we'll be getting out of there in a few days to a few weeks. We were going to get a slip at the CC marina but now we are not sure. It seems to kind of suck there as far as the restaurant options go. We were in San Fran a couple of weeks ago and we thought the outdoor seafood market was the cat's pajamas. Is there anything like that in the CC area?

Stu-Please forgive my etiquet ignorance for your urban nomenclature.
Txtowman-Do they cook it also? In San Fracisco, or as some say "the city" there would be a little chinese guy who beats the crap out of the crab until it's all cracked up so you can eat it easily. I miss that chinese guy. I can't wait to see him again. Yesterday I was trying to look near the coast by the battleship to see if there was anything like what i am looking for. I almost ran into the concrete divider, I mean it was a close one. The tires were kinda in that high speed slide, then it recovered.

there are many restaurants around there. I thought you were looking for a "market" like a place to buy seafood. I don't know of anyplace in texas that has that setup. And I have been just about everywhere on the coast except south padre island. I hope to relocate down there very soon and look forward to meeting you.

Used to be

Hermit, there used to be a little resturant in Aransas Pass that was super good. Wish I could remember the name, but it was right around the corner from the Tarpon Inn. The only choice you had in ordering was how many were eating. You then got a properly sized pot a stuff dumped on the table. ( Covered with butcher paper ) For utensils you got a little wooden hammer, for the crab claws, and a roll of paper towels. But as far as beint good, it was absolutely fantastic. Had shrimp and crab claws and corn on the cob, and potatoes and a bunch of other stuff. Absolutely fantastic meal.

Easy-I think this may be the place you are talking about. My wife went there 5 years ago but she can't remember where it is.
Where are you at now txtowman? I live in San Antonio and I am shopping for a home for my boat but haven't decided yet. If I run out of time before I chose, there is a crappy marina 1/2 mile from the CC marina called marina del sol. There is actually a shrimp boat sunk in one of the slips. I don't know if that's supposed to add to the charm or what. They advertised on Craigs list, $450 for 6 months. I would try to just get a slip for a month there if the CC marina wouldn't give me one for a month.
