Hello,
After a complete overhaul of my MD6A, plus significant
modification of the electrical installation,
"Lotta" is happily back to water.
There are still many small details to fix, one is that
I can't get the cooling temperature gauge working.
How should it be electrically connected ?
I have two unlabeled connectors at the temperature sensor
(at the engine). None of them is grounded.
The gauge itself has the following connectors:
"+" connected to the ignition switch connector "15"
"B" or "+B" connected to the instruments illumination
switch (illumination works)
"ground" connected to the negative bus bar
"G" connected to one of the connectors at the temperature
sensor (I've tried both connectors.)
This configuration does not work.
Any ideas?
I wonder if the sensor should perhaps be grounded (connected to "-")
via one of its connectors, or it is grounded through the engine block...
What are the two connectors at the sensor for ?
This is MD6A from 1973, and I supposed the temperature
gauge is the original one.
I made many notes when dismounting the engine, but unfortunately
it seems that I did not write down the temperature sensor/gauge
connections.
Thanks in advance for any help.Marcin
