Cooling problem

Occasionally and without any clear reason the temperature alarm of
my MD6B is sounding. I checked the sensor in hot water and it
switches between 65 and 70 degrees celsius. The impellor is ok and
water is rushing through at a normal rate. At the side of the sensor
it shows 75 degrees as operating temperature. Do I have a sensor
problem or a clotted cooling system? Or another problem?
It's outboard cooling.
Any suggestion/idea/solution is welcome.

Hi Ries

The usual reason for the overheating is the exchange manifold being partially blocked. Take the manifold off and clean at home. Can take a bit of time but will really bring the temperature down. Had this problem on more than a few Vegas with MD6A and MD6B and MD7A engines. You will need some rods and patience.
