Cooling hoses for engines

I've just tried to purchase new molded cooling hoses for the Universal M25 Diesel in my 1985 Catalina 36. They seem to be totally unavailable, all I was able to find were straight lengths of exhaust hose that I had to bend to fit, and those were nearly $50.00!!. Has anyone else experienced this with their own boat, whether it is a Universal M25 or not? Has anyone found a source for pre-formed hoses? I'm asking to see if there would be a market for such hoses if it were possible to find a manufacturer.

M25 Hoses

Craig Santa Barabara? Not too close to civilization? C'mon. West marine has a catalog, and you most likely have a store in your city. Regular black reinforced hose is avaiable everywhere. You MUST have a boatyard in SB. Geez.....

Straight hose IS available, not a good choice

Yes, regular black reinforced hose is available everywhere, but I'm talking about the molded hoses that go around corners. I work for an auto parts supplier, and we're able to provide hoses for 50 year old British sportscars. I could go into the back here and get a straight length of hose, but making compound bends seems like real jury rigging to me. For example, the hose from the water pump to the heat exchanger must make a 90 degree turn around the front of the block, down a but to clear the alternator, up a bit to clear the rear mount, the another bend almost right angle into the heat exchanger. That's a lot of stress on reinforced hose, I tried fitting some and it had a tendency to pull off, non-reinforced hose kinks so that no water gets through. Bottom line is that to do it correctly molded hoses are required. I consider my auxiliary to be not just motive power, but a safety item that may be my only salvation if I am dragging anchor or lose part of my rig. I don't want to rely on a bodged installation. Geez......

Molded hoses..

Had the same problem on my M25. I sweated together a copper 90 and 2 short lengths of copper to go around the corner. Its not original but, if the hose goes the repair is a snap. I looked high and low for molded hoses. This was my best solution.
