Cooler drain plumbing..

From what I understand, the cooler drain goes to the bilge.I am thinking of reconnecting it to the sink drain so the water goes outside the boat.Is there a good reason it is plummed into the bilge?royVega 1813

Hi.:
I think there's a very good reason for not connecting to the outside: The ice-box is sitting quite low and could suck in water and I don't think you would like that.
