Coolant type used on 2009 43

We have a 2009 43, it has 2 compressors for cooling, 1 for the fridge and 1 for the freezer. We notice lately the freezer isn't as cold (well, on and off). We would like as step one to add more coolant to the system and see if things improve. Has anyone done this and do you know what type of coolant you added?

The refrigerant type used should be indicated on the compressor label, if there is one, or in the manual for the unit if you have that.
The potential problem could be the refrigerant type used a few years ago, one of the common types, was phased out and replaced. You cannot mix the old with the new, and you cannot simply bleed the old refrigerant into the air. If you need the type that is no longer produced, it will be difficult or impossible to find, and expensive if you do find it.

I once read in a book on refrigeration, 80% of refrigeration problems are electrical. Before any addition of gas which is most likely 134a, you might want to make sure your electrical components are working correctly. Most likely your freezer has a Secop compressor controller, which is the best place to start. You might have the same controller on your frig & freezer, so swapping them might help to trouble shoot the issue. Also the Secop controller can flash trouble codes with the addition of an led.
