Had my third sail today. The first two times the wind was blowing too hard to see how it sails with the 155. This evening the wind was blowing just enough. Nice sail. But I never had a boat before with a built in cockpit cooler and it drains into the scupper too. Wow! I'm going to like this boat.

I think I'm going to have to start putting away some money for a set of new sails. I just bought a sail repair kit and I think I'm going to be using it often. A 135 is big enough for my boat. Good luck with that boat Rich.

i have been dissapointed with lack of wind most times when i go out, i guess that is one bad thing about where i sail, on the other hand the area is very friendly, and it is close to home. i look at this as training ground for when i get to put the boat, or a boat, down in florida.
On days that the wind was fair, the little girl seemed to sail well. I agree with rich about the 155
i have a light wind sail. it is about a 155 also. but it is hard to get set correctly, the leach and foot tend to curl in no matter how i sheet it. it does have adjustments for the foot and leach, and i have fiddled with those too. the times i have used it was on a beam reach in light air.

If it's an old sail it might be stretched out. Get on a close reach and play with adjusting the cars on the genoa track. Leach lines and foot lines too. it takes time. I've only sailed mine three times. If you have lots of light air then think about an asymmetrical spinnaker later on. They can be used for reaching. I've got one but I haven't used it yet. They're about a 165-170 in sail area. As soon as you buy a light air sail the wind will start blowing. Ha, did you think that when the boat was finished that you wouldn't be spending any more money on it? Usually in the fall the sail lofts run sales to keep them busy for the winter. Bigger discounts early and diminishing as they get closer to spring. I sent my main (original) to Sail Care, Inc. last fall and had it cleaned and checked and a second reef installed. They did a beautiful job and were great to work with and reasonable.
Try to get some of the sailors down there to go out with you. Is there any racing going on. Man, if you could crew on one that would be great.
Ask around. There's always somebody looking for crew. It's hard doing it alone.
You said you didn't have a jib block on the side deck. Was there ever one there? I would think that that was a standard item.
