Thousands have done this.

1) Open up your stove, the top part lifts up, and get the number

2) Call Seaward (Dennis) you can get their # on the internet

3) He'll get you the adjustments/new burner stuff you need, including the oven

4) Follow ALL the directions for installing the propane tank enclosure

The stove itself can be converted by replacing the burners. You need to understand that your old stove will lack the thermocouple switches which are standart on today's propane stoves. The theromcouple switches are a safety device to prevent a significant gas leak in the case a burner flame-out while the valve is open. The switch will sense the absence of heat from the burner and shut the gas off. This is not a big issue as before they came around we used to watch the flame while the stove was in use an d we still do. Ill list the components required for a safe install and will let you do your homework about their use and their cost. Sorry I cannot help with the location for the locker on your boat.

1) Sealed tank locker vented to the outside above the water line. Vapor tight fittings
2) Pigtail hose
3) Single stage propane regulator
4) In line pressure gauge to check for leaks
5) Solenoid valve and remote switch
6) Single length supply hose

Last year, I converted my 35.5 to propane. I got a locker that holds two 10# tanks that I mounted on the stern rail on the port side. Not, in my opinion, the greatest location, but the best I could come up. If one goes with a different number or size of tank(s) you may find a better location. Along with the other items mentioned in a previous post, I also installed a gas detector that was part of the controls.

Dave:

We built a valve to fill our CNG bottles. We filled 4 bottles for less than $8.

The major components were purchased from a welding shop. THe only trick part was the valve that attaches the fill hose to your tank. I have a few adapters that I hand made to covert the fittings.

The entire cost was about $225. If you have some others that need CNG you could possibly share the cost or fill their tanks for an extract $5-7 to pay for the parts.
