Construction issuses and sailing Characteristics

I just picked up an 1980 Oday 19 to toy with while my larger boat is in retrofit stages.I don't know a lot about the boat and am interested in any feed back about construction issues and just how hard the boat can be pushed if club raced for fun. Any input is appreciatedThanksConan

O'day 19

Here's a link to a page by a guy who recovered an abandoned O'day 19 and put it back in order. http://www.shortypen.com/boats/oday19/I don't know the specifics for the O'day 19 but the 192 has a PHRF of about 270 and can race with Catalina 22s, Pearson Ensigns and similar boats. You can give them grief on the off-the wind sections by pulling up the centerboard while they are still dragging their deep keels through the water.
