I have the opportunity to purchase a very clean 1991 33.5. I would like to hear from any 33.5 owners or past owners about this model and their pros and cons. Thanks for your help

Good Value!!

We love our 88 model. Lot's of room, sails great. The only draw back is the engine. It's underpowered in most owners opionions. These boats are usually a great value if price correctly.

check reviews

There are a number of owner reviews on this site--click on the boat model under "Boats and specs" and you will find them there. Most of the owners say the same things: good value, lot's of room, needs to be reefed at about 16-18 knots, and the 2GM20 is a little underpowered in some conditions.

H-33.5

We have a 1990 H-33.5 that we bought in 1999 from the original owner. Boat was also in great condition. WE like it very much. Never sorry that we bought it. I agree with all of Chris'

Great boat!

We have a '90 that we purchased one year ago. It's a great sailor, very roomy(sleeps seven), and comfortable. We have no problems with cruising at 6.4 knots(GPS) with the 2GM20F at 2800 RPM. She is a little weak in reverse, but we have the original prop. I have done a fair amount of electrical upgrades and she is fairly easy to work on. Suits are family of seven very well. Get a good surveyor and best of luck.

Endorsement for the 335

Bruce, We just returned yesterday from a three week trip on our 1992 335 up to Desolation Sound. The boat performed beautifully in a lot of different sailing conditions and was great to live on for that period of time. Our 1992 has the 3gm 30F engine. I'm not sure when the change was made, but the 3 cylinder moves us along at 7 knots all day at 2800 rpm when necessary. As has been recommended, get a survey, but we love our boat. Thanks to everyone

Thanks for your replies. The 1991 does have the 27hp engine and the survey was very favourable. Gary, we were just up to Desolation Sound on a different boat and had a great trip....next time it will be in the Hunter.
