Connecting 2 shore power chords together

I have a 50 foot standard yellow shore power chord. However, I could really use about 10 more feet of chord to run it so it would not be a trip hazard. Is it acceptable (safe) to connect 2 shore power chords together like you might do with household extension chords? I haven't seen any chords for sale that are longer than 50 feet. Thanks

I have had two power cords together for years without a problem . The only recomendation is to electrical tape the connection joint.

better than electrical tape

Electrical tape gets 'gummy' in the hot sun. Marinco has a coupling that will lock the two cords together and make a watertight seal. Roc
