Confirm alternator

Can any Beneteau 351 owners (with Perkins 27) confirm the alternator output? I believe mine is 15 Amp, but no one believes me.

15 amps seems very low. even the stock, internally regulated types put out about 25 for a short time before they're dialed back. do you have some kind of system monitor that has an amp function? What does it say?

Too little amperage

Most factory alternators have a plate affixed that tells the rated amperage. 15 is way too low. 55, 60, probably - 15, highly doubtful.Jim

I don't have a system monitor, unfortunately. If it is 55 I will probably stay with it; is it worth upgrating to a 60? Seems like it is not worth the effort.
