Preparing to install one of the new Raymarine Quantum Radomes on our 351. Using the wifi version of the Quantum, so I will only be installing the power cable for the Radome. Planning to install it on the mast above the steaming/deck light. First, would welcome and appreciate comments and tips from anyone that has completed this installation. And second, I don't see a conduit for the steaming/deck light wiring or the new Radome power cable. Can the power cable be run inside the mast without conduit?

Yes, run the cable inside the front of the mast. You will need to drill a hole up by the Radome and one at the bottom and use a fish tape to pull the power cord. My Radome was recently installed and that's how my sub contractor did it, no problem. Fit a rubber grommet in the top and bottom mast holes and seal around the cable with caulk. You will of course need the proper size through deck cable seal to get the power cord inside your cabin.

You don't mention if your mast has the furling main. If it does, the wires run up the front of the mast in a separate section. In any event, find the mast maker and model, it will be stamped somewhere on the base. Call the mast maker and get a diagram that will tell you where to run the wires. Best bet would be to run all the wires in the same fashion, particularly where they exit the mast and enter the boat to avoid leaks. Once inside you have to find the conduit to run the power wire back to the panel to pick up a circuit breaker. With a little luck you will find a messenger, if not you can use one of the existing wires to pull a messenger then pull them back. Good luck.

Not sure of the model year of your boat but the mast manufacturer is probably US spars if the boat was built in South Carolina. They would definitely have the cross section diagram for your mast .
