I have a 1987 Hunter23 and have had it for 8 years. I have yet to find someone knowledgeable the system of drainage into the foor area of the cabin. Does all the moisture that accumulats there come from condensation between the pan and the Hull? With the temperature extremes this year I thought we had sprung a leak. I would like to hear from anyone who has dealt with this problem. Thanks, Gayle Carson

Me too...

Gayle, I had the same thing for the first time on my 97 H26. I set the mast and motored into the slip then left it sit for 5 days, with drizzely rain each day and some 30 degree swings in temp. When I got to the boat Sat. I had an inch of water on the cabin floor, I soaked it up with a towel, it dried out and is fine now. I did notice that the hard part of the inside of the slider was covered with hanging water droplets. Condensation is the only thing I can think of to cause this, as I don't have any leaks anywhere. Good luck! Tom

Condensation / rain

I also had a lot of moisture in my boat until I sealed the deck/hull joint and all deck fitings with 3M4200. I always keep some desicant in both the main cabin and in the lazerett. The boat is in the ocean year round and has been bone dry for the last three years, even in our usual wet and rainy winters.
