Condensation in tachometer

Every time I take the boat out, condensation formes behind the glass of my tachometer making it difficult to see the engine hour meter. Is this common, or peculiar to me alone? How come, and what can I do about it?

Damp

Same on my 1999 one. Took out glass, dried on heater, resealed with silicone and put back-hey presto! - condensation returned with a vengeance.

Get quartz glass

There is a special type of glass you can get and I beklieve it is called quartz glass that does not fog, might be worth a try.

Add a little light to the subject?

Had a similar problem with my depth/speed instruments. Try turning the instrument lights on for a few minutes. The heat generated by the light should clear the condensation in a few minutes.
