Hi,
I have a Hunter 260, 2002 and have never had any leaks to date. This weekend it poured hard for about two hours and I noticed a very small trickle or drip of water running down the right front bulkhead. It appeared to be comming from the front right corner of my starboard window. (One of the life line stantions is almost directly above the potential leak area.

The next morning I noticed a bit of condensation in the window, the size of a quarter. When viewed from the inerior the condensation was not able to be seen?? The day became very hot and several other small spots of condensation appeared, again only seen from the outside view of the window. They could not be seen when looking from the interior. This is the spot near the leak.

I think the culprit could be the stantion area because the exterior seal of the window looks to be in excellent condition. The very top of wher the stantion is attached looks to be an ideal area for water to collect.

Any advice is appreciated, where to look, seal and what to seal with??

I know this sounds wierd but it is true.

Thank you,

Earl Keim II

I would look at the s/s screws that are in the four corners of the window. Easy to remove the one in that corner and put a little sealant in the hole then add some butyl around the srew head before you replace it. Mine had leaks on both windows from the two screws closest to the stantions. Somehow it worked its way around so it appeared to be coming in around the stantions. After I sealed these up problem stopped.
good luck, Bob

Thank you,

How do I find this screw? Do I have to tear out the bulkhead carpet?

the screws are on the outside of the window, one in each corner. They have a phillips head, and appear to be s/s and are about 1" long. The one that was leaking was on the upper right corner on port side, upper left on starboard side, (looking at window from the outside). The window is about an inch bigger on the outside of the boat than the hole is on the inside of the boat, the screws are on this margin, so I guess the water gets between the liner and deck.
