My 12V fridge ,one year old,(Waeco , Danfoss 35 compressor)developed a problem. The compressor stops for prolonged period of time ,sometimes 1/2 hour or more .(When it works, it does so for 10-15 min and produce 'average' cold only , less than before) . When not working , the inside temperature goes down significally , and rotating the evaporator termostat kbob fully both sides ,change nothing.( which mean the temperature hasn't gone down enough). When it stops , there are few small drops of ice on the lower side of evaporator( but it was the same before). Previously , it worked well , working for longer time and stopping for less, producing adequent inside temperature ( and rotating the knob to lower temp stopped the compressor). The compressor unit gets very hot-as before- while operating ( fan is working). What might be the problem ?

Have a model or serial number?

Alex, do you know the model number of your unit? Is it a WAECO Coolmatic, or a WAECO Adler Barbour? If it's an Adler Barbour, the problem may be the thermostat capillary tube attached to the evaporator may be touching the evaporator surface. It should be attached between the two thermostat clamps, and away from the evaporator on its path back to the thermostat. Also make sure the capillary is not kinked somewhere (applies to either unit). Another cause, and it wouldn't matter which unit you have, could be a blocked condenser (Radiator like coil in front of the fan). Make sure it is getting adequate air flow. Let me know if none of these apply and we can trouble shoot further.

Hi Gary, more to the fridge..

Thanks for your prompt reply. It is a Coolmatic unit , with the compressor ,radiator and electric box all side by side . the evaporator is VD15 unit.
