Have a 2006 H 44. Would it have the composite rudder I see mentioned in some blogs as a weak link? Did Hunter upgrade them at any point?

I believe that 2004 was the last year for composit......but the only way to be sure is to open up the the cap where the emergency tiller goes into the rudder and look at it.

You will be looking into the rudder post. You are looking to see if the "tube" looks like a metal tube or if it some other non-metal material (composite).

I don't "composite" rudders are the problem. The problems were with some carbon fiber tubes and I think those were on 460s
