I have a Catalina 36 Mk2, year of manufactory: 2000 I would like to get some information about the following; The compasslight doesn't work anymore, i've done measurements and have come to the conclusion that there is no voltage on the plug at the compass. The problem is that i don't know where to get the power from? Can you help me by giving a suggestion and/or a wiring schedule? Your help is very much appreciated, thank you for your efforts, Kind regards

Always assumed it was on the same

circuit as the navigation or running lights, which shows on Catalina's wiring diagrams as a red #14 wire. Were the lights on when you checked for power ?

Douwe, a few questions

First. I know its a simple question, but did you turn on the running lights switch at the Nav Station? The C36 MKII nav station light recieves its power from the wiring that goes back to the nav station. I am not sure but it might be tied back to the helm engine "pod" What Hull number are you? You might also want to ask this question at the C36 website site http://catalina36.org/6/ubb.x?a=cfrm&cdra=Y&s=3636043502 or possibly their email list http://www.catalina36.org/community/maillist.htm I also suggest that you join the C36 International Association. There is a wealth of information you can get , also manual a CD with all sorts of manuals for the boat and systems in the boat, plus all the tech notes from all the years, etc etc http://www.c36ia.com/?q=node/25
