Has anyone replaced their pedestal mounted compass? Mine has cracked and leaked and I'm looking for a place to buy a replacement for my 1980 Hunter 27. Perhaps a reliable on-line site?

I had the same problem on a 78 H30. I contacted a compass repair place in Norfolk. The repair was less than the cost of a new unit (under $200), and according to the shop the old ones are much better quality than the less than $500 ones available now. I am assuming yours is a Ritchie compass. You can usse the link to RitchieNavigation.com to find your nearest service center. Get a price to repair before you buy new.

I got mine at...
...Fawcett's, Annapolis. I had to replace the compass on my '82 Hunter 27 about 3 years ago. They had to special oder it, but I was able to get an exact replacement for under $85. It is a Rule Aqua Meter Saturn, Model# A144. Good Luck!
