Compass Interference from a VHF???

I have just mounted a Plastimo 130 compass in the port cockpit bulkhead of my 1994 23.5. I want to relocate my fixed mount VHF to the headliner on the port side near the companionway opening (above the sink for you 23.5/240 owners). How far away from the compass must I mount the VHF to avoid interference? Is this an issue? Please enlighten me.Thanks,Jonathan CostelloHeeling Powers

Mounting the radio should not be a problem.It is a good idea to twist the d.c power cord & the d.c power cord to the compass light-if there is one--ps--I use my mandheld vhf while standing next to my compass all the time-no effect.
