The hood over the compass on my 1987 Hunter 23 was broken by the previous owner. It has a crack where the hood attaches to the compass housing. The previous owner said that for years he just taped the hood in the upright position and just replaced the tape once or twice a season. Is anyone aware of replacement parts for the compass which came standard with these? Would it be better just to replace the entire compass? He mentioned it broke because the compass is located right where many people need a "hand hold" to get in/out of the cabin.

Compass Details

Sorry about that. In my haste I forgot to post the compass information. The Compass is an Airguide mounted on the port bulkhead. I looked for a model number but couldn't find a visible one. I suspect that it may be on the back of the compass. The only other info I could find is that it was made in Chicago. The previous owner told me that it came with the boat when he purchased it new. The original brochure does not list a compass as a standard part.
