Compass Gasket

I am looking for advice on the rubber gasket that seals the glass
disk over the compass to the deck in the cockpit. The piece appears
to be a two-piece rubber extrusion. Mine has begun to disintegrate.

I have looked on the internet and there are several custom houses
that will apparently extrude rubber to your specification but I
expect they are not interested in a job that does not require more
than a 30 cm length.

Does anyone have a suggestion on what is an appropriate replacement
for this piece?

Hi.:
mine went bad long time ago. I cut a piece of plexi
glass, drilled four holes, painted the underside silver,
used some good silicon sealer, and it looks okay (and cost
me less than 5 bucks)

Ups.. when I said "I painted the underside silver", that's
right- but I first made a circle the size of the compass,
and painted only the part outside the circle (makes it look
like a nice frame).

JG Brisson. Please post the sites that will extrude gasket per your specs. I need some done for the Series III Vega for the windows. I'm not having any luck finding the stock window gasket. contact me off line if you'd like.
Thanks

Would a thin strip of high density foam work? You know, the kind
used in weather stripping with one side that is peeled back and has
the adhesive. I used the same kind found in auto stores to seal the
cockpit hatch, worked great.
