I am looking to purchase an Oday in this size range and I am confused between the models 30, 302, 31, and 322. I don't believe that the interor space is much different. Is the On deck size only as far as the stern at the top or does it include the swim platform? Is the 302 just a 30 with a swim platform stuck on the back? Is the water line length realy only bigger casue of the swim platform or is it bigger inside? Is this just marketing or are these boats realy different? Can any one explain in detail? add to the string or contact me at stevenaberlin@aol.com Thanks for the help.

...on the Oday models, the double digit numbers, (22, 27, 30, 32 etc.) were the earlier models, later they called them 222, 272, 302, 322, etc. I am no expert, however they probably used the same molds. As to the swimm platform I can't help you. I will say this, on the earlier models, back in those days, (No pun intended) fiberglass was sort of in its infancy for ODay and all of the boatbuilders. They built them extra beefy back then compared to some of the wafer thin ones today! For what it's worth. Jack

Check out this link

Then click on model info and they have original brochures so you can compare, and Jack is right about the extra glass on the older models

different years-different boats

The O'DAY 30 (1977-84) and the O'DAY 31 (1985-86) were basically the same boat, the 31 had a swim platform molded into the transom and the interior was updated a bit. the 30 was offered as deep-keel, shoal-keel and Keel/CB. The 302 was an entirely new design introduced in 1987 during the time that O'DAY was changing to a more "Eurostyle" look. The 302 had a wing-keel as the only keel choice. The 322 was a larger version of the 302 (well, actually, the 302 was a smaller 322) introduced in 1986 and was als a "Eurostyle" design. The 322 had a wing-keel. The molds for the 302 and 322 were sold to "O'DAY of Japan" when O'DAY (USA) went out of business in 1989. Check out the info posted in the Boat Info pages of this website (link at top of page).
