Companionway hatch key or lock replacement

Hi. We recently purchased a First 375. It only came with 1 key. I have visited several locksmiths in an effort to get the key copied with no success. Any idea where we can order key blanks from? According to a couple of the locksmiths I visited, the key we have is not an original so we don't have the code for the key blank.

Any First 375 owners out there? If you could look at your hatch key and reply with the code, it would be much appreciated. Many thanks!

I believe all Beneteau keys are the same blank. I've answered this question a number of times on this forums, so if you search for "keys" you may find it. I believe the key I have is the one i had from my 235. It is a Taylor, with "41RB" in a circle. The other side says "fits CG22,1041E". The first ones I had made, the locksmith matched the points of the old one and the new one. It didn't work. He then lined up the shoulders and recut, and this wacked off some of the point. That worked. Please let us know if this works for you.

I don't think all Beneteau lock brands are the same in spite of what Ron says. My hactch lock is a "Select" brand and it has a serial number on it consisting of 2 letters and 3 digits.

I believe the older Beneteau's, like the 375 and 285 and I know my 310, all used the same blank key. Not sure when Beneteau changed.

Have you tried contacting Ward at Beneteau. I've purchased blank keys from them in the past.
