I have an H376 ( 1998 ) and am contemplating fabricating vertical, companionway doors. Preferrably w/ interchangeable inserts of screens/dark plastic. Would appreciate help re: attaching hinges so intruders can't gain access. And any other suggestions. Plan to make out of Starboard. Thanx, MRF

Not what you are looking for since you want to make them but I bought exactly what you are looking for from Zarcor. Fabulous product and he has templates for most boats. Installation instructions superior. Came with lock, smoked lexan inserts, and screens.

Quadrille 38, Thanx for the quick reply. I saw similar doors at the boat show but they were quite expensive. Ergo, my desire to fabricate my own. What's Zarcor's web & price? I spent many wonderful summers near your home at Owassippee Boy Scout camps as a camper & counselor. LOVE Michigan !! " M " GO BLUE !!! ; } MRF

Hi John

Well yes they were a little expensive but the quality of workmanship was superior. I weighed my options and chose to spend my time installing already made beautiful doors and then going sailing rather than building and then installing doors. A choice I know :) Seriously it was easier for me to pick up a consulting project where I do have skills and then use the money to buy a product from someone skilled in an area where I wasn't.

Zarcor web site is at http://www.sail2000.com I see they actually have doors on sale now for $795.00. I have no connection to the company or the owner but I have purchased a lot of stuff from him over the years. Quality products, terrific customer service and he is a former Michigan area sailor.

Scout camp is still there although a few years ago the council that owns it tried to put it up for sale and get it rezoned so housing development could go in. Was a huge backlash in the community and I believe it's still a camp and operating. My daughters both attended the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp near there.

On the Go Blue thing - well there we might have a conflict. I'm a Spartan. Although I have taken classes at Michigan and I do serve on a board there. ?
