My Catalina 30 (#4886) was broken into and the thiefs threw all 3 of my companionway door boards overboard. I was able to recover the top two (largest) boards, but the bottom board (smallest) was lost. Can anyone suggest a replacement. Thanks in advance Darren

they're still in business and can probably get you one next day shipping. Or, make one, don't know how handy you are. Sorry to hear about the theft, bummer, by bums.

if the two bigger salvaged boards are in good condition, it will certainly pay to have the third fabricated; even if only temporarily to keep the rain out. i just went through the same scenario, but with a broken middle board and had all winter to find a solution; new ones are very expensive.

raw material + carpenter

This is a job that any carpenter could handle easily. You can save money by doing the legwork yourself. Buy the teak in the right thickness, make your own pattern if you can (should be easy to trace on cardboard), bring along the other two boards. Then stop at a cabinet shop with all of that and a big box of donuts. You tell them that your not in a hurry and you can come back in a week or two. of course you offer to do the sanding and finish. If you catch them in the right mood (remember the donuts), they might just say that it is a five minute job if there is a table saw already set up and not worth the hassle of charging. Then you give them a nice tip on the way out the door and they'll treat you nice if you ever come back with favor number 2.
