Our 260 is a 2001 model. The arrangement for the companion way door turned out to be quite a bit of trouble. The seperate pieces were difficult to handle and store conveniently. We built a door that stays in place at all times and allows free access to the cabin, even under sail. It has two doors. Each one is a bi-fold that lies flat to each side nicely and stays free of the compass to one side and the bi-data console on the other. I will be happy to give the plans to anyone interested. Each companion way is slightly different and the plans may need modification to fit, but in our case, it sure was worth the trouble. It is inexpensive (less than $100)to make and can be modified for screens, windows etc. If interested, email us at curryco@wwt.net

Sounds like a great project. I'm planning to do the same thing on my 31. If you have any pictures, post them in the Photo Archives... Thanks Joe S/V Charis

Doors

Doors are the way to go! Beats the heck out of hatchboards. There are exceptions of course, but Ithink it's a great upgrade. I hope you'll post photos and / or plans in the Photo Forum. ph.
