I'm in the process, or should I say my wife is in the process of making a companion way cover and awning for our 240. My question for those with the companion way cover are the forward snaps forward of the hinges for the slider or aft. I'm quessing they are aft so they can be used for the camper top. It appears from pictures I've seen that the snaps coming down the sides are placed in the fiberglass. I was thinking of placing them in the starboard that is used to make the frame. Does this soun like a bad idea. Just trying to eliminate the number of holes in the fiberglass. Oh yeah got a great deal on sunbrella from ebay.

Pop Top

Sean, We have the pop top enclosure and the snaps are forward of the Hinge line. I would think you'd want them forward on the hatch cover as well in case you add the pop top later for dual functionality. I'd be interested in pictures of your companionway cover when you finish it up.

Do you have camper top?

If so, snaps should be placed in the cover in the same locations.
