Help! My companion way cover does not slide easily. When we are inside and close it for the night, it is almost impossible to slide open from the cabin. Is there a good lubricant to use on the channel?
You might try the kind of Teflon spray you can get for you mainsail slides. I've used that with some success. Whatever you do, don't use WD40 - it's a solvent, not a lubricant.LaDonna
I've used a little bit of cleaner wax on the slidng hatch covers of different boats. It cleans up the tracks, and makes them slick. Don't over do it though...on one boat, the hatch cover slid too easily, especially in a seaway.Randy
