Companion way cover scratches

Does anyone else have this issue with their companion way cover? Something is scratching the bottom side and leaving residue. I have looked with flashlights and cameras but see nothing that may be doing this. This is the second boat that has this issue.

Ideas?

I don't have that issue but have worked with plastics before. I think you can start with 400 grit sandpaper and work your way up to 1000 or 2000 grit paper and then auto paint compound to remove the scratches. OR take it to an auto body shop.

Mike is right, except you should figure out the cause/source before bothering to polish imho. They make cool/inexpensive USB endoscopes now that you can hook up to your phone... I'm always tempted to pick one up on Amazon for problems like that one... never seen that problem though, sorry.

I have similar problem but not that bad. I concluded it just slides on a starboard material and cannot prevent it.

It shouldn't be scratching. Either the cover is too low or the opening has a point that is too high.

Correct Mike, just need to find a way to locate the high/low point. On E dock
Thanks
