Under the companion way there is a small access to the keel bolts. There is a drain that allows water to drain from the engine compartment. Where is the water supposed to go from there? There is another hole that appears a inch or so deep but goes nowhere and wouldnt drain the water anyways. I've heard that I shouldnt have water in there in the first place, but I do. So I am wondering what, if any are my options??

No where!

There was no drain from the companionway step grid. Our dealer had drilled a hole through the grid to thread the cables for the depth/speed to the stern area. The problem with this is the grid is hollow and water can accumulate between the liner and the hull.

If you want to put a drain in this area, I would suggest that you drill a hole that would accept a piece of 1/2 inch PVC and seal it in place with some glue or 5200.

It is best to keep any water out of the hull/liner area because it can start to smell if it remains in there.

The same things go for the engine blige area. The rain water and/or packing gland can cause water to get into these areas. If you don't have a cover for the companionway, I would suggest that you get one. This will keep most of the rain water from accumulating around the companionway area and it also help keep your interior cleaner.
