Looking at buying a 32 Vision. Wondered about stayless mast; pros/cons? Any problems? Why don't they make anymore? Thanks. Jeff

Pros: comfortable live aboard cons: up wind performance is not as good as vessels of similiar size The reason they stopped making them was a marketing decision

We love it!
We have really enjoyed our Vision. I know folks say it doesn't point as well as some. I have not necessarily noticed it... But we do not formally race. What is nice about the rig is when it is gusty the mast will dump the extra pressure and we just go a little faster. I just replced my main sheet to be a 6:1 with jamb cleat, bypassing the foredeck routing. Excellent change, I can now trim quickly and easily without a winch. Be aware of the aluminum holding tank under the shower seat on our 1989. It leaks around the nipples, at the welds. Not the greatest material for holding uric acid. Ours started leaking and I replaced it this winter. Plan on it.
