Yeah--try the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia. See at link below. They have a pick-up crew white board; or, you might be able to go directly to the docks to talk to skippers who might be short-handed "at the last minute." The club is accommodating to sailors from "out-of-area" who wish to visit. Very nice! I was there a few years ago and crewed in several twilight races.

you could also go to the Royal Prince Alfred or Royal Motor Yacht clubs up on Pittwater- about 30 minutes north of Sydney- much more relaxed sailing as no commercial ships and ferries! Just go to their websites and the details will be there, but there will always be someone willing to take a "yank" out for a sail!!
Enjoy!

I lived in Sydney for a while and in my first week there I went to CYCA and put my name on the whiteboard, withing 30 minutes I had a place on a crew for one of the more relaxed Monday evening races. Crewed on the same boat several times and had a great time.

eianm, Pittwater is a great place to have your boat, we sailed dinghies out of BayView whilst we were there. Maybe back there next January too:)

deacm, have a great time in Oz
