Does anyone know where to get more comfortable cushions for the V-berth (or for the whole interior for that matter) on an 1988 C30? I have the originals and my wife would spend more time on the water if we had more comfortable beds! (Can you see the motivation beaming out of my eyes!) Thanks. BW

cushions

I had mine custom made. That option can be very expensive depending on where you have it done. The local upholstery shop might be a better option than someone who makes "marine cushions." I am fortunate enough to have a family member who made them for me. You can order the materials from SailRite and save some additional expenses. Good luck.

Try adding an "eggshell"

We have new cushions in our C-30 but still use the eggshell foam pad we used with our old cushions. We've found that the same pad that we use for the main cabin double berth will fit the v-berth. Cut diagonally in half you can use it in either place.

Custom Mattress

You can have a custom mattress made to fit the V-berth. The ultimate in comfort! The only downside is it should be a one piece, making regular access to anything under the berth more difficult. You will loose a couple inches headroom as the mattres is a bit thicker than the std foam. Also there is a noted slope to the V-berth You may enquire if the mattress maker can add an inch or two to the thickness towards the aft portion.

comfortable bed

Make up the dinette bunk and use an inflatable queen size mattress. You can find the mattress and a 12 volt inflator/deflator pump at most sporting goods stores for about thirty bucks. The queen is a snug fit, but it makes a great bed on the water. All the comforts of home. Enjoy.
