combi drive unit

Hello,
My name is Bob, I am working on an alben system with the combi drive. I have full forward at this time. The cam that runs the throtle and direction is turned straight down, but the gear shift throtle is at the marks on the case. Does anyone know how to get this in the correct posission? The only book I have is the parts manual. This is a 1967, located in Holland Michigan USA. Thank You.

I hope I've read your problem correctly . . .

I believe that the easiest way to make the adjustment (I've just done this myself) is to 1) loosen the screw, nut or bolt that holds the lever in the cockpit, 2) take the lever off the shaft (pull it, don't pry or lever it) 3) position the lever at another position that would give you more latitude for movement, 4) move the combi connection until it is in the neutral position (the engine has to be running to find this) 5) remove the lever, reposition it to the new position that you will NOW call neutral. 6) tighten the bolt, screw, nut that holds the lever in place.

I had this problem recently - my lever seems to have slipped its position on the rotating shaft. I've tightened it up now, and the problem has gone away.

I also took the opportunity to dismantle the very clever gear in behind the lever (inside the lazerette) and give it a good greasing. It's easy enough if you can get the four screws loose. This could be an important thing to do if you detect that there's any friction coming from that little box.

I looked at the cost and quality of the new levers on the market, and the old one we've got on our vegas is much more scookum than the new gizmos they're selling for very high prices.Kevin
