Cockpit table

Anyone have idea for latch to keep two sides of table closed when
sailing? PO used small bungee cord tied and bit of pain to
keep sliding up to hold closed. Thanks for any response.

I use bungee cord, but instead of tying it, I have two of those bungee cord ss hooks at the ends and just hook one into the other. I tie the ends to the binnacle guard legs, high enough to hold.

My table has a bungee chord that has plastic hooks that attach to pad eyes under the table top. Looks like it is the original Catalina setup.
