My Lancer 25 has a tiller, so binnacle for mounting a table to. Anybody have any good ideas on a stowable table? I kind of thought about an ironing board support setup? Anybody have anything else?

Worked for me.

I bought a teak folding table similar to this one. Stows neatly. Teak. The legs are a bit of an incovenience if you get this size but a smaller one wouldn't be enough for four people if that is an issue. I still have it if you ever get down to MA.

On my B235 I put a shortend helm guard rail atop the transom to mount a table to in regular fashion.

the June SAIL magazine had some cockpit table design ideas - one was clamped over the tiller.

I found this at IKEA for $30 a nujmber of years back. It's hardwood, but not teak, I put Cetol on it. Although IKEA no longer has them you might check other sources of imported furniture.

The table fold and stows away conveniently in the quarter berth (garage). It is low enough to fit under the tiller, I use cupholders below seat level to prevent accidents with the tiller.

Joe, I posted this 4 yrs ago. If you put in spacers in the center of the table you can raise the height and you legs will fit under.
Minney's has these tables but he want $89 for them.

Here's what I did for my L25...

I also wanted to make a single surface in the cockpit for sleeping so I epoxied a couple of rails along the side. Then made two platforms...a smaller one that I use while sailing to put my chart book on top of etc and a longer one that becomes my table. I bolted a couple of key-hole brackets at the end of the cockpit that supports two legs and a third leg, forming a tripod is forward. All three legs screw into t-nuts, which are recessed into the top of the table. The table is made from 1/2" solid-core oak plywood and has a trex (synthetic decking) edge all around. I only have a couple of photos showing the rails, having breakfast on Lake Mojave with my son't former Boy Scout Troop, and my son reading before bed. But would take additional photos if you would like.

FYI...doubling up the cockpit cushions and a twin air mattress fills up the cockpit space nicely, but I wouldn't want to be much over 5'8". Steve

Good idea... here's one I googled .... Eucalyptus wood... $85 online, $99 at Target. I like it.

I wish I had a picture of the cockpit table my friend made for his boat. He made it so 4 people can sit at it and eat when its up and when down becomes the cockpit floor allowing water to drain under it.

A lot of great ideas! Thank you for your suggestions. The little folding tables . . . . I have two in the basement. I never thought of that. I especially like Steve's though. My thought was to have the rear legs plug into the cockpit drains, one on either side of the cockpit floor. I might even use transom plugs (or that sort of thing) to lock them in and give stability. Then a swing down leg for the front. Hmm . . .

Good evening all. I took some more pictures of my surface for sleeping on and then setting up the table, which seats four. The only issue is the tripod wobbles a little so one cannot lean on the table. Steve
