any ideas on where to put speakers for a stereo in the cockpitarea? If i motor I can't hear the music from below so I'm lookin'to put something on deck.
Take a look in the photo forum, I show where I placed them in my H320, I also placed the same type of speakers in the same location on my 91' H28.Hope it helps.Regards.Bruce.
Hi,Last summer I got the West Marine $99 waterproof box speakers, and made hangers to install them from the railing. West Marine also sells the plastic clamps for attaching objects to deck railing. If you want more info send me an email.Jim Whartonjim.wharton@fnc.fujitsu.comNote: I'm on vacation next week.
Hi,Jim has the right idea. Moveable speakers! If you read the fine print on most "marine" speakers it says to keep out of the water and sun!!! I ended up using a small three speaker suround system set of speakers and mounted them in the cabin with the larger speaker facing aft from the fwd galley area in my little C22. Of coarse half the time I can't keep my little 4 hp Mercury OB running, so I can still hear the music over my cursing at the engine!!!!!Jay
Mine are to the left and right of the helm as you sit down. They are out of the way and easy to hear, but I keep pulling the speaker cable as I pull things out and put them back in the locker. (another legacy of previous owners...)I also wonder what would happen if the cockpit got pooped...still it does seem to work.
