I have an area of soft cockpit sole about six inches forward of the steering pedestal. The water causing the delamination was coming from the pedestal bolts. This problem has been corrected. My question is, will I be able to repair it from underneath by cutting through the liner and replacing the core and the soft area. I do not want to go in from the top. Has anyone tried this approach for a repair? I think the area is too large for epoxy injection.

Mine, too

John, I have the same problem, but not quite as bad as you. Is the core of the deck wood? Is your wood rotten? I haven't opened mine up to find out (I have an area about 5 square inches) and I'm afraid of what might be in there. Anyone? Allen Schweitzer s/v Drambuie C-30 Hull# 632

pedestal bolts

In 1988 the pedestal bolts are in aspot that is solid glass about 10" around I took my pedestal off and re sealed ti last year.Ive seen aguy cut that spot from the top and fix the non skid there is some body in texes that makes the mold for catalina nonskid . and what they did is cut 6" round hole removed the roted wood and left it to dry under acover ,when it was dry theyfilled the hole with some kind of plastic bord It mite have been star bord ?epoxyed it in and covered it withthe old glasspeice that came out . then ground off nonskid and glassed in the cut all the way around with regular resion .And Then gellcoated it flat.He left aflot seam around the repear and put the new gelcoat nonskid in side about 1/2 "and It looks real good except the color is alittle off . The adress for the nonskid mold isGibcoFlex-mold 6657Epeden Rd Ft Worth TX 76179 good luck JOlson
